How do I connect my iPhone to my Smart TV?

Hey! I’m trying to connect my iPhone to my Smart TV to stream content wirelessly. I’d prefer to avoid using cables and am not sure if my TV supports AirPlay or if I need a specific app or device.

Can anyone recommend the best method or guide me through the setup process? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

To check if your TV has AirPlay, go to your TV’s settings under “Apple AirPlay & HomeKit.” If your TV doesn’t support AirPlay, you can use third-party apps like DoCast or Screen Mirroring | Smart TV. DoCast supports a lot of TV brands, is easy to set up, and offers smooth mirroring but has time limits in the free version. Screen Mirroring | Smart TV is compatible with many TVs and supports a range of content, though it may have slight delays and also has time limits in its free version. Both require a stable Wi-Fi connection.

I often connect my iPhone to the TV using a cable. Here’s the instruction from Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iph93af723b9/ios The good thing about this method is that it doesn’t require internet access. If I have access to Wi-Fi, I use mirroring apps like Screen Mirroring - TV Cast Air or DoCast ‎Screen Mirror Smart TV: DoCast on the App Store Both connect well, and I am particularly satisfied with the mirroring quality in DoCast. However, both apps have session time limits for mirroring.
