How to stream from iPhone to Roku?

Hello. I’m trying to stream content from my iPhone to my Roku device, but I’m not sure how to set it up. I’d like to cast videos and photos directly to the TV using Roku. I’ve heard that Roku supports AirPlay, but it’s likely that my model does not. How can I stream from my iPhone without AirPlay?

Please share any tips!

To check if your Roku device supports AirPlay, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Settings Menu: On your Roku home screen, navigate to Settings > Apple AirPlay and HomeKit. If you see this option, your Roku device supports AirPlay.
  • Check Roku’s Official Website: You can also check Roku’s website https://www.roku.com/ for a list of devices that support AirPlay. Typically, Roku models released after 2017 and running Roku OS 9.4 or later support AirPlay.

If your Roku doesn’t support AirPlay, you can use third-party apps like DoCast or Airbeam.
DoCast is easy to set up and supports various TV brands, including Roku. It allows unlimited photo streaming, but video streaming is time-limited in the free version.

AirBeam works with many devices and allows you to mirror various content types, though it also has time limits and may experience slight delays.

Both apps require a stable Wi-Fi connection for the best performance.

To stream from your iPhone to your Roku, you can use the Screen Mirroring App: Smart TV, which is compatible with most TVs as long as both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Another option is AllCast, which streams media but has limited features in the free version. For an easy and straightforward setup, the DoCast app ‎Screen Mirror Smart TV: DoCast on the App Store is also a reliable choice.
