What's the Best Book App?

I’m looking for recommendations on the best book app. I’ve tried a few like Kindle and Apple Books, but I’m not fully satisfied. I’d love to find an app with a wide selection, user-friendly interface, and good features for note-taking and highlighting. Any suggestions?

Have you tried Bookly? It’s often underrated but packs a punch with its features. The app offers an extensive collection of books across different genres, excellent note-taking and highlighting tools, and a sleek, intuitive interface. You can track your reading progress and even set up reading goals. For those who enjoy stats, it provides detailed analytics about your reading habits. It may be exactly what you’re looking for.

Bookly sounds great, @suenodelbosque! I’ll definitely check it out. However, I’d say you should also consider trying out Scribd. Scribd offers a massive library, including books, audiobooks, academic documents, and even sheet music!

Its interface is clean and straightforward, with strong support for note-taking and highlighting. While it may not offer detailed analytics like Bookly, the breadth of content is unparalleled, providing access beyond just books. You also get personalized recommendations based on your reading history, which is a sweet feature.

For those who enjoy reading across devices, Scribd synchronizes your progress well, so you can switch between your phone, tablet, or computer seamlessly. It does have a monthly subscription fee, though, but considering the value it brings, it might just be worth it.

Another app to consider is Marvin, which is specifically designed for eBooks and has powerful customization options for fonts, themes, and layout. It also boasts a comprehensive set of tools for note-taking, highlighting, and even dictionary lookups. While the collection relies on you adding your own books, its performance and features make it more than worth the effort.

So, all things considered, it seems like your choice might boil down to what’s more important to you—if it’s having detailed reading stats and goals, @suenodelbosque’s Bookly suggestion is solid. But if it’s about having a diverse collection and seamless access across devices, Scribd could be the winner. For extreme customization, Marvin is hard to beat.

Happy reading!
