Reddit in 2026 still leans toward two safe picks. The official Amazon Fire TV app, and one decent third party if the Amazon app keeps dropping.
I agree with @mikeappsreviewer on one point, keep the official app installed for the keyboard alone. Typing on Fire TV without it is pain. Voice search is useful too. But I do not agree it should be your main app for everyone. On some networks it still loses the device and asks you to pair agian. That gets old fast.
What I keep seeing from Reddit users:

- TVRem on iPhone, mostly because people want one app for Fire TV plus Roku, LG, Samsung, stuff like that.

My take, if you want fast and stable, use a third party app for daily use, keep Amazon’s app as backup. If your phone and Fire TV are on solid 5 GHz Wi-Fi, connection speed is usualy fine.
